In the heart of Downtown Aberdeen on July 22nd, 2017 will be the 19th annual Aberdeen Art Walk

In the heart of Historic Downtown Aberdeen on July 22nd, the 19th annual Aberdeen Art Walk is going to be exploding on the streets with artists and vendors from all over Western Washington. Art Walk is a way for us to give back to the community by showing off our Downtown and Western WA talents to the public. This event is a Non-Profit event and is FREE for the public to attend. There is something for all to enjoy. Aberdeen is a hub of activity every weekend in the month of July.

Last year’s Art Walk was brought back to life where it had the highest attendance in its 18-year history. This year will be no exception. There are several happenings added to this year’s lineup that will delight everyone.
For this 19th Annual Event, we will have well over 90 Artists and Vendors including a more interactive Kid’s Corner and new stage management. We have added Downtown Mural Tours hosted by Silvia Dickerson, a Pet Costume Contest for all hosted by Dennis Co., Steam Donkey Brewery Company hosting a beer garden, local family friendly entertainment hosted by the Stone Soup Group, Artists in Action, and the possibility of mini paint classes. There will be an information booth located in front of Moore’s Interiors on the corner of Broadway and Wishkah St. with maps, schedules, local deals, and directions.
Saturday, July 22nd from 10 to 5 the popular event will include talented artists and craft persons set up throughout the Central Downtown core of Aberdeen. They will adorn two blocks of Broadway and the sidewalks of Wishkah St. Kid’s Corner will be located on I St., near the Star sculpture, where there will be a variety of crafts, chalk art and more for the kiddos to do. Come have your kids get their faces painted by one of our talented artist Teresa Maria from Olympia. There is something for everyone at this family-friendly event.
Live entertainment will begin at 10 a.m. on the main stage which will include performances by several local artists including Mike Burdoff, The Multipliers, Lisa Ramsauer, Zach Daugherty, Geoff Hirschfeld & Aaron Nickel and Ty Wulf. Relax and stroll through downtown & enjoy being entertained!
The Pet Costume Contest hosted by Dennis Co is a way for Art Walk to give the public a way to get involved with their creative side. Registration deadline is by 11:30 a.m. at the Dennis Co. booth located by the Main Stage. The contest will begin at 12 noon at the Main Stage. First Prize: Best Overall Costume, Second prize: Most Creative Costume, and third prize: Runner-up. All household pet are included in this contest. We also have a Facebook Event page just for the Pet Costume Contest – Aberdeen Art Walk.
How about talking a walking Downtown Mural Tour hosted by Sylvia Dickerson. Aberdeen is adorned with many talented murals and here the story behind each one including the artist who produced the amazing work. You will also get to view one of Aberdeen’s biggest murals in progress. Tour times will be listed at the information booth.
Take a break in the beer garden and view all the activities and entertainment going on around you while sipping on a nice cool beer from Steam Donkey Brewing Company. The beer garden is located in the hub of event activities. You can also get some lunch from either Stg. Brand BBQ, Simply Kettle Corn or Grays Harbor Democrats with their famous onion burgers. If you are not of age or have children with you then we have seating for you by the main stage so you can have lunch and enjoy the entertainment.
Come watch Artists in Action showing off their talents. Each booth with an Artist in Action will be identified by a sandwich board posted in front of their booth identifying their location.
Let’s not forget about the Art Attack Fun Run on Sunday the 23rd. This year’s run is being held at Bishop Athletic Complex and consists of a 2 mile, 5K and a 10K run.
